Create and manage announcements

Create, schedule, and manage event announcements sent to registered attendees on the event website, the virtual platform and the mobile app.

Create an announcement

  1. Navigate to Communication > Announcements in your event dashboard and click Create.

  2. Enter a title (up to 120 characters) and an optional message (up to 500 characters).

  3. Select a delivery option to send the announcement immediately or schedule it for a future date and time.

  4. Set a visibility duration to automatically archive the post once it expires.

  5. Review the delivery, visibility and number of recipients on the Summary step before confirming.

Announcements are automatically sent to all registrants of the event, excluding withdrawn or waitlisted registrations. You can't choose another audience.

Note: announcements are available with the Pro plan.

Manage announcements

Track and update your announcements using the management table under Communication > Announcements.

  • Filter and search: Filter announcements by status (Visible, Scheduled, or Archived) and date, or use the search bar to find specific posts.

  • View details: Click any row to open the detail page and view its content, metadata, and status-specific actions.

  • Edit visible announcements: Edit or archive "Visible" announcements. Edits update instantly without triggering a new notification.

  • Edit scheduled announcements: Edit or delete "Scheduled" announcements. Editing a scheduled post automatically recalculates its visibility end time.

Attendee experience

Logged-in attendees see announcements on the event website, on the virtual platform and in the Fourwaves mobile app. On the event website and the virtual platform:

  • Announcement center: Access a dedicated announcement center with search functionality and a split-pane view.

  • Toast notifications: Newly delivered announcements trigger stackable toast notifications that can be manually dismissed.

Frequently asked questions

I don't see my announcement in the app

Only people with an active registration see announcements. A withdrawn or waitlisted registration doesn't count.

To test as an organizer, register for your event with the email address of your app account. To skip the payment, see Add a participant and ignore payment.

Only Visible announcements show. A Scheduled announcement appears at its delivery time.

In the app, open More > Announcements. The app checks for new announcements every minute.
