Introduction
When an event is created, its status will always be unpublished.
Visibility settings for event sites
Unpublished Event Sites: These are visible only to organizers. This state is ideal for making edits and reviewing the site before it goes live.
Published Event Sites: Once published, the event site becomes publicly accessible, allowing participants to view and interact with the content.
When an event is unpublished, it is only accessible to its organizers. Keep in mind that you can still edit an event that has been published.
Note: you can continue to edit your event even after it has been published.
If you're signed in as an organizer or a chair, the published website shows an Edit event button at the top. It opens the event dashboard.
How to publish your website
Go to the Overview section of your event.
Click Publish.
Click Confirm.
Once published, your website is live and accessible. This means that the event URL becomes fully functional, allowing participants to access and interact with the event content as intended.
Note: Only organization administrators can publish events. Make sure you have the required permissions or contact an organization administrator.
Note: publishing requires a Billing address in your organization's settings. If it is missing, click Go to settings to add it, then publish again.
How to unpublish your website
You can unpublish your event to take its website offline, for example if you published it by mistake.
Go to the Overview section of your event.
Click Actions, then Unpublish event.
Click Unpublish.
Your event goes back to draft. Participants can no longer access its website, and the event is listed under Drafts. All your event data is kept. To publish it again, follow the steps in "How to publish your website".
Note: only organization administrators can unpublish an event, and only if it has no transactions.
